Apostolic palace,Vatican City


Apostolic palace, or the Palace or the papacy Vatican Palace, is the official residence of the Pope in the Vatican City.

This palace is a complex of buildings which consist of Apartemen papacy, government offices of the Catholic Church, some chapel, Vatican Museum, and the Vatican Library. In all this there is a complex of 1,000 rooms, of which the most famous is the Sistina Chapel fresko the roof painted by Michelangelo (direstorasi during the years 1980-1990) and Raphael's room.

Pope's residence is Lateran Palace and Castel Gandolfo outside Rome.

Before 1871, Quirinal Palace is the official residence of Pope. After the end of the papacy in the country in 1870, King of Italy took the palace in the year 1871 and make the official residence of the King. After the removal of Italian monarchy in 1946, this palace became the official residence of President of the Republic of Italy.
